Our Winter competition runs on Saturday mornings from 9 am at Seaford North Primary School (Halifax St Seaford). Arrival by 8.45 am, and any child from the age of 5yrs can participate.
At Seaford, we run our Cross Country on the oval and around the adjacent sandy/wetland tracks and strongly promote having a go and doing your personal best. All abilities are welcome.
Each Saturday we run Cross Country events over one of two courses, from 500m for the young athletes to 3000m+ for older athletes. Official Distances: U6 500m, U7 & U8 1km, U9 & U10 1.5km, U11 & U12 2km, U13 upwards 3km+. On most Saturdays, we will also hold Race Walking events. U8 &U9 (700m) / U10 & U11 (1100m) /U12 upwards (1500m)
We also conduct several team and special events, including our enormously popular ‘Nominated Times’ and ‘Nominated Times Team Relay’ events and Open Days and Championship Events.
For children who have not been a member of a Little Athletics Centre before, we invite you to come and try 2 competition days free of charge before you commit to a full membership. Before participating in a trial, we ask that you fill in the online form which can be accessed by clicking the link above and follow the prompts. Upon completion, you will receive an email with further information including a Trial Patch which should be printed and taken with you when you join our competition days.
Once you decide that you love Little Athletics as much as we all do and have completed your free trials, full membership payment will be due. The 2024 Winter Cross Country Season cost is $95 per child (this includes the $55 Little Athletics Victoria Insurance for new members only). You will also be required to purchase a Centre Competition Top to be worn each week for $35.
Cross Country & Winter Race Walking commences on the 27th of April and runs through to August of the same year.
**Only Athletes that are Registered or Registered as a Trial may participate during Interclubs and Training.

Important Centre Updates
Seaford Little Athletics continues to be a COVID safe centre and will follow the direction of the State Government, Athletics Australia, and Little Athletics Victoria moving forward.
The 2022/23 season of Little Athletics is going to be a lot of fun, and we will continue to comply with the recommendations set down by all relevant governing bodies.
While everyone is super excited to return to Little Athletics for the coming season, we ask that you STAY HOME if you have any cold or flu symptoms. If anyone attends a Little Athletics competition or training and is displaying cold or flu-like symptoms, they will be asked to go home again.
Let’s make this a safe and super season.

Extreme Weather Conditions
Should the weather conditions be considered extreme, the Committee will convene to make a decision regarding the day's program as early as possible to provide enough notice to our community. The decision will be communicated via Facebook and email.
The decision to compete or not compete is never an easy decision to make, but at all times the safety of the Little Athletes are paramount. Parents are encouraged to make an independent decision regarding whether their children will participate or not.
We will advise if Little Athletics has been cancelled only, not that it is going ahead as scheduled. If there has been no public announcement, competition is running. If the weather deteriorates after this time, then we will make a decision as and when required.
