Let's be Covid Safe at Seaford Little Athletics
The 2020/2021 season of Little Athletics is going to be a lot of fun, however, it is going to look a bit different from other seasons.
In order to commence competition and training, the club has agreed to comply with the COVID protocols outlined by LAVic.
There is a copy of LAVic’s detailed Metropolitan Melbourne COVID -19 Protocols on Little Athletics Victoria website.
Below is a summary of their expectations for competition and training.
Competition and training protocols.
• Only one parent/guardian is permitted to be present unless parent/guardian is in a volunteering role.
• Parents or guardians must scan the QR code for Seaford Little Athletics. This will be found on posters around the clubrooms.
• Attendees to bring their own drink bottles
• The ‘Get in, Compete, Get out’ approach must be adhered to.
• Those 12 and above must wear masks whilst not participating in events.
• There will be no communal clothing bucket.
• Physical distancing of 1.5m must be adhered to by participants, volunteers and parents/guardians at all times. Whilst competing in track events, physical distancing is not required.
• Events will be conducted in groups of 10 or less.
• Training will be conducted in groups of 10 or less.
• Equipment such as javelins, discus, and shot puts will be disinfected before and after each use.
Everyone is super excited to return to Little Athletics after a long time without sports, but you MUST STAY HOME if you have any cold or flu symptoms. If anyone attends Little Athletics competition or training and is displaying cold or flu-like symptoms, they will be asked to leave, get tested for COVID and will require a medical certificate to return to competition and/or training, as per LAVic COVID protocols.
There will be COVID Safe Officials (CSO) at both competition and training. These are Katie Scroggie, Emily McLellan, Ross Taylor and Dean Lambert. Please do not hesitate to ask them any COVID Little Athletics related questions.
Let’s make this a safe and super season.
Seaford Little Athletics Committee
Feed is temporarily unavailable.
Seaford LAC has made the very difficult decision to not hold an Open Day during the 2020-21 Track and Field Season.
Due to ever-changing COVID 19 restrictions, as well as the limited season calendar, we feel the conditions would not be favourable.
Apologies to anyone who had planned to visit our centre, but we look forward to hosting you in the future.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Seaford Little Athletics Centre acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Should the weather conditions be considered extreme, the Committee will convene to make a decision regarding the day's program as early as possible to provide enough notice to our community. The decision will be communicated via Facebook and email.
The decision to compete or not compete is never an easy decision to make, but at all times the safety of the Little Athletes are paramount. Parents are encouraged to make an independent decision regarding whether their children will participate or not.
We will advise if Little Athletics has been cancelled only, not that it is going ahead as scheduled. If there has been no public announcement, competition is running. If the weather deteriorates after this time, then we will make a decision as and when required.
